New Member Program

We strive to bring women into our Sisterhood who are going to be leaders, contributors and a Sister in every sense of the word. Real Merit and Worth: The New Member Program was designed with this in mind – enhancing leadership skills, setting goals, understanding who Alpha Xi Delta is at her core and providing opportunities for our newest members to create deep, meaningful relationships with each other, the chapter and our national organization. When you join Alpha Xi Delta, you will grow in your talents and strengths, all with the support of your Sisters.

The Alpha Xi Delta New Member Experience 

Becoming a new member of Alpha Xi Delta is the first step toward becoming a fully fledged sister of Alpha Xi Delta. When a woman is accepted into the chapter as a new member she has all the rights and privileges that an initiated sister has, and is able to attend all Alpha Xi Delta events. The weeks of the new member period consist of attending chapter meetings on Sunday nights, weekly new member education meetings, a new member retreat, and a plethora of fun things to do! New members will learn about the history, outward symbols, and fraternity programs of Alpha Xi Delta during the new member period. Each new member will receive a Big Sister (or just "Big" for short) who will help guide her into becoming an initiated member and show her what Alpha Xi Delta is all about. At New Member Retreat, the new members get together with the New Member Orientation Chair and have a fun night of bonding and activities as a new member class. New members also receive plenty of presents from their Bigs during Big/Little Reveal and Initiation. Being a new member of Alpha Xi Delta is truly a unique and enriching experience!

Big/Little Reveal

Big/Little Reveal and the week leading up to it is one of the most exciting experiences for a new member. Throughout the week, her Big will leave her clues and gifts. Finally, she will discover who her Big is at Big/Little Reveal at the end of the week. Afterwards, she will receive more gifts from her Big!

New Member Retreat

This is a time for the new members to bond with one another as a pledge class. The New Member Orientation Director plans fun, team-building activities to do together which will give new members a glimpse of life as an initiated member of AXiD!
